The Carnival Blessing: God, we know that like all parents you rejoice when the children are enjoying each other at play:
May your carnival bring delight to your loving heart!
Your Creation, O God, is glistening all around us, a Perfect setting for games and parades and royal courts, for contests and music and great meals:
May all this fun broaden your grin, holy and joyful God!
Compassion, O God, abounds in You and flows from You, and we know that when we imitate Your Compassion, You are greatly pleased. Help us to bring into the carnival those who are sad, lonely, hurting or ill, that they too may be lifted up in these days:
Take joy, O God, in our embrace of one and all.
Go in peace, to love one another welcome the strangers and Rejoice in the glory of God’s good creation.
Thanks be to God!
